چکیده

A 65-nm CMOS receiver tailored for breast cancer diagnostic imaging is demonstrated for the first time. The receiver shows 31-dB conversion gain, NF dB, 28 dBm, IIP dBm and IIP dBm over a band from 1.75 to 15 GHz. A programmable injection-locked divider generates quadrature LO signals with a I/Q phase error over three octaves without requiring any calibration or tuning. The receiver shows a flicker noise corner as low as 40 Hz, achieving a dynamic range of 106 dB.

A 65 nm CMOS Wideband Radio Receiver With ΔΣ-Based A/D-Converting Channel-Select Filters

This paper presents a wideband quadrature radio receiver employing ΔΣ-based A/D-converting channel-select filters (ADCSFs). The output of the quadrature passive mixer is directly connected to the input of the ADCSFs, where a first-order ΔΣ modulator is incorporated into a fourth-order Butterworth channel-select filter (CSF) to provide sufficient dynamic range for a cellular system. A design met...

130 nm CMOS Mixer and VCO for 2.4 GHz Low-power Wireless Personal Area Networks

This paper describes a 2.4 GHz passive switch mixer and a 5/2.5 GHz voltage-controlled negative Gm oscillator (VCO) with an inversion-mode MOS varactor. Both circuits are implemented using a 1P8M 0.13 μm process. The switch mixer has an input referred 1 dB compression point of −3.89 dBm and a conversion gain of −0.96 dB when the local oscillator power is +2.5 dBm. The VCO consumes only 1.75 mW,...

Integrated D-band transmitter and receiver for wireless data communication in 65 nm CMOS

A 140 GHz transmitter (Tx) and receiver (Rx) chip set has been developed in 65 nm CMOS by using on– off keying non-coherent modulation to support high speed proximity data communication. To the author’s best knowledge, it enables the first integrated multi-Gbps data link in D-band by saving power hungry frequency synthesizer, high speed data convertors and complicated digital signal processor. ...

Design of a Very Low-power, Low-cost 60 GHz Receiver Front-End Implemented in 65 nm CMOS Technology

The research on the design of receiver front-ends for very high data-rate communication in the 60 GHz band in nanoscale CMOS technologies is going on for some time now. While a multitude of 60 GHz front-ends have been published in recent years, they are not consequently optimized for low power consumption. Thus, these front-ends dissipate too much power for battery-powered applications like han...

A Ku-Band CMOS FMCW Radar Transceiver for Snowpack Remote Sensing

This paper presents a Ku-band (14–16 GHz) CMOS frequency-modulated continuous-wave (FMCW) radar transceiver developed to measure dry-snow depth for water management purposes and to aid in retrieval of snow water equivalent. An on-chip direct digital frequency synthesizer and digital-toanalog converter digitally generates a chirping waveform which then drives a ring oscillator-based Ku-Band phas...
